I Am Love

This piece. 
If there ever was a labor of love, this for sure qualifies. 
I started this piece right after finishing the most profound medicine journey of my life thus far. That journey was profound in ways that words never have access to. It was a journey deep into the heart of my path. What I found there... is an infinite ocean of unconditional love. I was shown this path of unconditional love I've been on since childhood... the twists and turns that diverted me at times into what appeared to be "normal life".... but no matter which way I turned, love was staring me back in the face... guiding me home. As I embarked on this painting - as always - I had no idea what I would paint. No sketches. No plans. Just me, the canvas, the brushes, the paint and God. It started in one direction, and then I was FLOODED with so many visions. They started to appear on the canvas. And... I wasn't really getting it. I was missing the point... what WAS the medicine? It felt disjointed. It felt annoying... I wasn't getting the message. So, I let it sit. And incubate. Not coincidentally I myself was doing a bit of sitting and incubating...getting totally off the grid for a few days. When I went back to the canvas, I felt SO MUCH LOVE. But I still had no idea where it was going. I came close to saying... later. I'll put this piece away until some future time because I just don't get it. But that would've been avoidance of the challenge. So I went back in, and she changed. She got brighter. She got more intense. Whole sections were given a complete whitewash...Detail was taken out and new detail was added in. The vine grew. Flowers appeared. Her mouth blossomed... her eyes relaxed. The moon appeared and cast its luminosity on her face. The blue in her eyes connected directly with the depths of the ocean. The process was so consuming... like birth... I had to remind myself to breathe. Literally. Then came today. I could feel when she was complete. I was awakened fully to her medicine. I got it. Completely. And here she is, offered to you.
